For those following along so far, I apologize for the delay. I’ve been struggling to get a few bugs fixed on the site, all back-end type stuff. For instance, you should now be able to subscribe by email to post updates, and you can now subscribe by email to comments you put in. Finally, I’ve added a new excerpts tab at the top, which includes the following excerpt: nearly half of the first chapter. Enjoy!
Next week: a little introduction to the archives that made this research possible.
I look forward to following your progress. I’ve been writting about the Revolutionary War for some time, but haven’t attempted to put a book together. For what it’s worth, much of my recent research and writing has been on the American campaign to take Montréal in 1775. See, for example here: http://miniawi.blogspot.com/2010/12/in-search-of-lost-battlefield.html
Your site is very cool. I’ve added a link to your blog from mine. My book does cover the Canadian Campaign of 1775, and I give much attention to the Siege of Ft. St. Johns and the Battle of Quebec City. The Canadian Campaign is, in my mind, a very exciting and often ignored part of the Revolution. I will be in touch sometime in the future about your imagery, as there are several images that would be nice to put in my book (once I get a publisher, of course…)
Just posted a slightly revised version of this excerpt…
